AWSs almost all finished

We have had a lot of excitement recently with the G'nT s finishing (or almost) their versions of Di Ford's Antique Wedding Sampler re-visited.
We visited Katrina to collect Lynne and Sofie's quilts and to drop off my completed blue and cream version.

Aren't both quilts just stunning? It's fascinating to see the differences in fabrics. colours and Katrina's gorgeous quilting between the two quilts.
Here is my blue and crean one waiting for Katrina to weave her magic again.

Then it was off to Somerset to look at bindings. Sofie chose a brown check which would look better on the diagonal so Karen showed us a great way to fold and cut the fabric to get this effect.

Poor Lynne (?!) wasn't with us as she was enjoying herself herself elsewhere...

So we sent pics of possibilities, I liked this one as it looked like a continuation of that fabulous border...

...but the burgundy seemed to be the popular choice...

...and did look great with the backing fabric.

Until next time when we'll give an update on our latest projects.
